About Us
Wright Economics offers sophisticated yet manageable transfer pricing services to companies in all industries and countries.
Our senior staff hold advanced degrees in economics or business, i.e., we have 1 Ph.D., 4 Masters in Economics, 1 MBA, and 1 CPA at the senior level. These people are supported by 3 analysts who hold undergraduate degrees in business or economics.
Our approach is to provide advice that
- Meets the requirements of the arm’s length standard, and the specific rules of the various countries in which the company does business.
- Is practical. We do not take a theoretical approach. Instead, we assist companies in developing transfer pricing policies that can be implemented within the company’s systems and which is simple enough to be managed over the years in which the policy will be in place.
- Is simple enough to be understood. Our approach is to leave our clients with an understanding of our advice such that it can be managed in-house by people with limited prior understanding of transfer pricing. At the same time, we provide on-going advice as issues come up after the project is complete, and we are available to assist with audits that may occur (either by the company’s financial statement auditors or by a tax authority).
Our experience is the key, we have
- Over 50 years of experience with transfer pricing issues between our principal economists.
- Functional and industry expertise in many industries, including pharmaceuticals, heavy equipment, construction, computer software, hi-tech, and household goods.
- Experience as an expert witness in transfer pricing litigation and as an economic advisor to law firms and clients relating to litigation matters, or in front of a competent authority in addition to audits, appeals and general compliance work.
- Been engaged by many law firms and accounting firms to advise and assist on transfer pricing matters.
- The experience and ability to provide expert transfer pricing advice that you can really use.
- Experience in leading training sessions (e.g. for the IBFD in Amsterdam) as well as leading seminars in many countries in the world (at last count, some 14 countries) demonstrating our breadth of involvement in the international transfer pricing community. It also reflects the recognition that we are experts in international transfer pricing economics and planning across many countries and allows us to assist with local transfer pricing issues in most countries.
